ForestSAT community,
The organization of the ForestSAT 2022 in Krakow, Poland has been facing several challenges over the last years. First, the pandemics made the organization of the first attempt in Krakow impossible. Now, after we finally seem to reach an end to the severe phase of the pandemics, the Ukraine crisis has again led to a situation where the colleagues in Krakow felt that it would be too risky to organize the conference in Poland.

After hearing about the decision to cancel ForestSAT 2022 in Krakow, a lot of us were disappointed and a few people from the community started a discussion whether it might be possible to save the event after all. Finally, a group of colleagues including Micha Förster, Birgit Kleinschmit, Martin Herold, Patrick Hostert, Marion Stellmes and Fabian Faßnacht who are all located in Berlin and Potsdam offered to join forces with the colleagues in Krakow and transfer the conference to Berlin. The organization of the event is now in full swing and we try to realize the conference in very little time.  We hope that many of you are still interested in joining the conference later this summer in the days between:

We promise that we will do our best to make ForestSAT 2022 the best event possible given the difficult circumstances and thereby finally enable the ForestSAT community to meet in person again after a very long face-in-a-box-time.
