ROSES23 F.8 Supplements for Open Source Science (SOSS) - Deadline 2024-03-29

F.8 Supplements for Open-Source Science (SOSS) solicits proposals to add an open science component to an existing "parent" ROSES award. The goal of this program element is to increase the accessibility, inclusivity, and reproducibility of the science from the parent award, and/or to contribute back to the open-science communities relevant to the parent award.

ROSES-2023 Amendment 33 releases final text and due dates for F.8 SOSS. No Notices of Intent are requested for this program element and proposals may be submitted at any time until the close date of ROSES-2023 on March 29, 2024.

On or about July 20, 2023, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2023" (NNH23ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2023.

It is an opportunity for currently funded projects to compete for support for cloud computing for project periods up to 1 year. Projects include activities for:

  • Making the results of the parent award more accessible, inclusive, and usable
  • Contributing back to the open science communities used by or relevant to the parent award
  • Requests for Amazon Web Services (AWS) credits to support activities from the parent award

To be eligible to propose to this program element, the proposer must have a research proposal that has been selected for funding. Proposals with fewer than 15 months remaining or in the no cost extension phase may still be considered but proposers should confirm eligibility with the points of contact (POCs) in Section 6 of this program element prior to submission

Questions concerning F.8 SOSS may be directed to Steven Crawford at steven.m.crawford@nasa.gov and Paige Martin at paige.e.martin@nasa.gov.
